ScandiFlames Ask Freestanding Bioethanol Fireplace with Surtur 18" Insert
The ScandiFlames Ask bioethanol fireplace combines a raw, rustic aesthetic with modern bioethanol technology. The freestanding surround is made from polystone with a pronounced surface texture designed to replicate stacked grey brickwork, giving the fireplace a solid and characterful appearance. Its design suits classic interiors, country-style homes and more industrial settings where the fireplace is intended to stand out as a focal point.
At the centre of the surround is the Surtur 18" bioethanol fireplace insert, which burns bioethanol to create real flames without smoke, soot or the need for a chimney. The burner has a capacity of 1.8 litres and provides up to approximately 5.5 hours of burn time per refill. With a heat output of up to 3 kW, the fireplace also contributes comfortable supplementary warmth to the room.
The name Ask originates from Norse mythology, where Ask was the first man, created alongside Embla. The name symbolises life and warmth, making it a natural reference to the fireplace’s live flames and inviting presence.
